The Malalasekera Foundation was developed to maintain and safeguard the great legacy of Prof. Gunapala Malalasekera for future generations. The vision of the foundation is to build on the rich heritage of Sri Lanka. Additionally, the foundation aims to create a value system among the youth of the country towards a dynamic and progressive future. This is achieved by forging harmonious relationships amongst all people in Sri Lanka by creating and maintaining establishments for enhancing knowledge, language and technological skills as well as by restoring and preserving temples and monuments that contain our cultural diversity.

The Sri Lankan charitable trust Foundation of Goodness have been improving the lives of disadvantaged Sri Lankans in rural communities island-wide since 1999. The Foundation of Goodness aims to narrow the gap between the urban and rural sector in Sri Lanka through a holistic and inclusive approach, empowering people in rural areas for better progress, using the spirit of kindness, giving and compassion. Today, the Foundation of Goodness, with their holistic approach to bridging the gap between the urban and rural sector in Sri Lanka, has established 10 Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres Island-wide in addition to the MCC Centre of Excellence and Sports Academy which are the project headquarters in Seenigama through which they touch over 31,500 lives annually from 400+ villages via 30 sectors in action, free of cost.
